Hi Tension
Hi-Tension, originally known as Hot Waxx, were a British band from North West London and are recognized as pioneers of Brit Funk. They changed their name to Hi-Tension in 1978 and achieved significant success with their hit singles "Hi Tension" and "British Hustle," both of which reached the top 20 in the UK. The band's influence extended beyond their music, as they were part of a new wave of UK black artists that transformed the British soul/r&B scene. Hi-Tension's music, characterized by its funky beats and soulful melodies, remains a defining sound of the Brit Funk genre.
The Brit Funk Project
Paul and Jeff's particular brand of infectious funk that could only have originated in the UK. Their first single, 'Bless The Funk' is a return to their roots. A fresh and inspired reworking of the classic dance floor filler, Hi Tension by Hi Tension. As far as Jeff and Paul are concerned, this is a rebirth, a resurrection, but this time they intend to go all the way. With Other members Paul and Patrick Mclean, joining in on some of the sessions, the guys leased a modern take of their original Hit (Hi Tension Bless The Funk) Jeff Guishard.
